We had our Pi Day event at Mathnasium of Carlington recently, and it turned out to be a really fun (and slightly chaotic) night.
It was one of those evenings where the centre felt a little more like a community space than a classroom. Families dropped in, kids moved between activities, and there was a steady mix of games, snacks, and a bit of friendly competition throughout the night.
We had a few different stations set up, along with raffles and small contests. Some students were focused on the challenges, others were just there to enjoy the atmosphere, and honestly, both are exactly what we hope for at events like this.
The highlight of the night was easily one of our students reciting an absurd number of digits of pi. At some point, we stopped counting. As a reward, they got to throw a plate of whipped cream at Jad… which they did without hesitation.
Here’s a quick recap of the event:

Thanks to everyone who came by. It’s always nice seeing the centre used like this, not just for sessions but as a place where kids can just enjoy being there.
