Mathnasium Began With the Realization That Theres a Better Way to Teach Math

We love Mathnasium and the team at Pleasantview! My 8 yo was enrolled in Kumon for approx. 2 years. My husband and I felt that he was not progressing as much as we had hoped so we decided to make a switch to Mathnasium after hearing good things from other parents, and we are so glad we did. Coming to sessions is no longer a drag. In fact, he finds it to be so much fun. He has only been enrolled for 2 months and I can already see improvements in the way he processes and thinks. We are excited to see him continue to make big strides with the incredible staff at Pleasantview. Thank you all for your patience and hard work with these kids!

My sister used to be very anxious just before her math tests and mathnasium really helped her to regain her confidence. She has improved tremendously and she loves going to the center. Mathnasium not only helped her to get rid of her fear for math but also introduced her to new bonds. She absolutely loves the instructors and I must say Salina's energy just brightens up the entire center. Also, I love their interior!

Mathnasium has produced some good results for our second grader. He raised his test scores and will likely obtain a better grade at the end of the school year. This will a permanent option for us.

We joined Mathnasium to help my child keep practicing math regularly, and it has been a great experience so far. She actually looks forward to her sessions — I can tell she enjoys it because she reminds me when it’s time for her lesson each week! I want to share a wonderful experience my two daughters, aged 7 and 12, have had at the after-school math improvement program they attend. The staff at this program are simply the best, with one standout being Chris. He is not only a fantastic teacher who has helped my daughters immensely with their math skills, but he is also the nicest person you could meet. Chris's dedication and passion for teaching truly shine through in his interactions with the students, and my daughters have benefitted greatly from his expertise. I highly recommend this program to any parent looking to help their children excel in math.

Excellent learning center for kids. Tania and her team have lots of patient to kids and they are professional. Tania is willing to give a lot of useful information to parents. Kids love and really enjoy to study here. 👍👍👍

We’ve had a really good experience with Mathnasium so far. My daughter has definitely gained more confidence with math, and I’ve noticed improvement since starting. The environment is supportive, organized, and makes extra help feel a lot less overwhelming for kids.

We can not say enough good things about Alex and his team. From our very first meeting with Alex, my son was treated with respect. They engaged, impressed, and befriended my son. He is always greeted upon arrival, and walked to the parents at dismissal. The mathnasium team is thorough, organized, efficient and fun. The way in which they speak to my son is very clam, positive and engaging. I have even started to notice him mimic their mannerisms at home with his little sister. Not only are his academic skills improving, but also his relationships with those around him. Alex and the team have been such a great influence on our family. Our son’s performance in the first math quiz after joining Mathnasium had improved. He is happy going home every after a session at Mathnasium and he looks forward to the next. Our 9 year old son explored different math tutoring options in the local area and was adamant about attending Mathnasium Newmarket. Having spent time in the waiting area I can see why he enjoys spending 2 hours a week here. The admin staff and tutors are engaging, knowledgeable and positive. The program is tailored to him: filling gaps where needed and expanding upon topics that he has mastered- all in line with the Ontario curriculum. He is driven by a clever incentive program and enjoys mini breaks where he plays table top games with peers. We are incredibly happy that we chose to drive a little further (explored other options closer to home) for the right environment for our son!

Mathnasium of Forest Hill has been such a great experience for our son! He’s motivated to go each week and actually enjoys math now. I love that they send regular mastery checks so we can see his progress — he finds those really motivating too. We tried another well-known kids’ math program before, and it was a struggle to get him to go. At Mathnasium, it’s the complete opposite — he looks forward to it!

We love the concept of assessing each child’s individual learning needs and then tailoring a program specifically designed to fill those gaps. The positive reinforcement through stickers and prizes, the young and highly qualified instructors, and the well-organized, colorful learning environment all contribute to a positive and engaging experience.
