Cat Lane
Center Director
Cat brings nearly 8 years of experience working remotely with schools across the country, specializing in special education and leading key projects in that field. Based in Tucson, she’s the proud mom of three children, including her youngest, 16-year-old son still at home.
After joining Mathnasium as an instructor in July, Cat quickly found fulfillment in directly helping students grow their confidence and math skills. Now as Center Director, she’s excited to support the Catalina Foothills community with quality math education. In her free time, she enjoys music, art, roller skating, board games, video games, hiking, and family time.
Mimi
Instructor
Mimi is currently a student at Pima Community College, majoring in Liberal Arts with a focus on Social Services. To her, math is more than just a subject—it’s a universal language used in everyday life across all cultures. Mimi joined the Mathnasium team to help make math more approachable and less intimidating for students. She believes that, like any language, the more you practice math, the more fluent you become. Her approach is rooted in the belief that “to teach is to learn twice,” and she takes pride in supporting students with patience and care.
Outside of school and work, Mimi enjoys watching movies, listening to music, reading, and doing crafts. She also has a passion for learning new languages and loves exploring different cultures through their words and stories.
Victoria
Instructor
Victoria is a teacher at Rattlesnake Ridge Elementary School and holds a master’s degree in Information System Management from Friends University. She loves that math allows you to find answers in many different ways and enjoys helping students discover the approach that makes the most sense to them.
In her free time, Victoria enjoys playing soccer, reading, and cooking. Her favorite part of being an instructor at Mathnasium is helping kids build confidence and learn to love math just as much as she does!
Alexis

Alexis is a student at BASIS Tucson North who loves teaching and enjoys how math builds strong problem-solving skills that carry into everyday life. She’s passionate about helping students gain confidence and learn to think critically through challenging concepts.
Outside of the classroom, Alexis enjoys water skiing, creating art, flying, and playing video games. She’s excited to bring her enthusiasm and curiosity to Mathnasium!
Zeinab
Instructor
Zeinab is a senior at BASIS Tucson North who loves exploring new ideas through reading, music, and her unique hobby—collecting card decks. She enjoys math because it serves as the foundation for every science and helps explain how the world works.
Zeinab looks forward to meeting new people and working with students, and she’s excited to help them build confidence and curiosity in math!
Kawsa
Instructor
Kawsa is a student at BASIS Tucson North who loves learning through curiosity and asking questions. One of her favorite memories is growing closer to her cousins while tackling an intimidating physics teacher—and having fun playing Just Dance with friends.
In her free time, Kawsa enjoys crocheting, working with clay, and speaking. She’s excited to work at Mathnasium because she loves helping students grow their confidence in a way they can carry with them for the rest of their lives. What she enjoys most about math is that it’s an intrinsically interactive learning experience.
