One of the most frequently asked question we get is Does Mathnasium help with homework?  

Our goal is to meet your student where they are, bring them to grade level and then take them beyond grade level.  While homework is part of a student’s school experience, it’s not where lasting progress is made. If your student is struggling with grade-level material, it’s often a sign that there are foundational gaps that need to be addressed first. Jumping straight into schoolwork without filling in those gaps is like trying to patch holes in a small boat with masking tape—you might stay afloat for a while, but you’re not getting anywhere. Eventually, the tape wears out, and the boat sinks.

That’s why every student at Mathnasium begins with a comprehensive assessment—starting with the basics. We check for mastery of addition and subtraction before moving on to multiplication and division. Because if a student can’t confidently add and subtract, they won’t be able to multiply or divide with understanding. These skills build on each other, and skipping ahead only leads to frustration down the road.
