Mathnasium of Parkville's personalized algebra tutoring programs are designed to support students at every stage of their math journey.
We help students transition from concrete to abstract thinking, mastering integers, fractions, order of operations, and introductory variables while building the algebraic reasoning needed for Algebra 1.
Our caring tutors guide students through multi-step equations, linear functions, graphing, and word problems using personalized plans that turn this pivotal course into a confident foundation for future math success.
We support students with fast-paced, complex topics—factoring polynomials, quadratics, exponentials, and logarithms—building advanced problem-solving skills needed for Precalculus and college-prep coursework.
At Mathnasium of Parkville, our specially trained math tutors help students of all skill levels learn and master algebra—including Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and topics like linear equations, functions, graphing, and polynomials.
We provide personalized, face-to-face instruction in a caring and fun group environment. Our tutors use clear, everyday language, meet students where they are, and help them build the confidence and understanding they need to succeed in algebra.
We use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach designed to help students truly understand how algebra works while strengthening critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Our tutors blend proven interactive techniques with personalized learning plans tailored to each student’s needs and learning style. This approach makes algebra clear, meaningful, and easier to apply both in the classroom and in real-world situations.
Every student begins with a diagnostic assessment that helps us identify their current skills, learning gaps, and academic goals. Using these insights, we create a personalized learning plan that focuses on exactly what each student needs—whether they’re catching up, keeping up, or getting ahead.
Once the plan is in place, our tutors provide targeted instruction and adapt their teaching in real time to fill gaps, reinforce concepts, and introduce new material gradually. This supportive approach helps students truly understand the concepts they are working with and build lasting confidence in algebra.

Ella Harris
Center Director
Ella began her mathematics educational journey around the age of 10 when her father taught her algebra. She went on to take every math course offered during grade school, double majored in Mathematics and High School Education for her undergraduate studies, and achieved a Masters in Education in Curriculum and Instruction. Her decades of tutoring and teaching experiences have honed Ella’s natural talents for math education and made her an expert in identifying students’ learning styles and adjusting her approach to help them succeed. At Mathnasium, Ella is excited to combine her passion for mathematics with her love of helping students build confidence and understanding!
Ella identifies as a lifelong learner, and continues to take graduate courses in mathematics and statistics. When not pursuing math-related extracurriculars, she can be found reading, watching movies, spending time with her family and friends, or possibly at a Chiefs game!
Benjamin
Instructor
Benjamin is a sophomore at MCC, and is pursuing an associates in engineering. Math is one of his favorite things, and he loves having the ability to share his knowledge with others!
Favorite Number: 3 (because trigonometry is one of my favorite subjects, and triangles are all about 3's)
A Fun Fact about Benjamin: I enjoy folding origami. My favorite projects are the ones that take many different pieces and delicate precision.
Whether they would like to attend sessions in-center or online, students can take 3 easy steps to enroll at Mathnasium.
All students begin their Mathnasium journey with a diagnostic assessment that pinpoints what they already know and the algebraic concepts they still need to learn.
