Summer Success at Mathnasium of Spokane Valley: How We Make Learning Fun and Inspiring

Q1: How does your center keep math learning fun during the summer months?

A: We amp up the in-center fun in the summer months! We have dress-up weeks, bingo cards, raffles, and other games all summer long to keep students engaged and excited about learning.

Q2: Share a recent success story from your center-could be a student who’s overcome a challenge, earned a reward, or showed great progress!

A: Recently, I worked with student who typically has a tough time focusing and getting work done. It was my first time working with this student in a while, and instead of completing 1-2 pages, he completed 10! After his session, he ran out to his mom and brought her back inside to show her all the work he had completed.

Q3: Why is summer learning important for your students, and how does Mathnasium help prevent the summer slide?

A: At Mathnasium, we build personalized learning plans for every student specifically to help them in areas they do not understand, rather than reteaching what they already know. This helps students efficiently catch up and stay ahead over the summer months, as well as, excel in the new school year!

Q4: What’s one thing you love about your students and families at your center?

A: I love that everyone is so supportive of everyone around them, and the students are so willing to learn every time they come in.
