Mathnasium of Westwood's personalized algebra tutoring programs are designed to support students at every stage of their math journey.
We help students transition from concrete to abstract thinking, mastering integers, fractions, order of operations, and introductory variables while building the algebraic reasoning needed for Algebra 1.
Our caring tutors guide students through multi-step equations, linear functions, graphing, and word problems using personalized plans that turn this pivotal course into a confident foundation for future math success.
We support students with fast-paced, complex topics—factoring polynomials, quadratics, exponentials, and logarithms—building advanced problem-solving skills needed for Precalculus and college-prep coursework.
At Mathnasium of Westwood, our specially trained math tutors help students of all skill levels learn and master K-12 algebra, whether they are working on Prealgebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, or specific topics like expressions, equations, functions, and graphing.
We provide personalized, face-to-face instruction in an empowering and fun environment. Our tutors use clear, everyday language, meet students where they are, and help them build confidence as they develop a deeper understanding of how algebra works.
Our specially trained tutors use the Mathnasium Method™, a proprietary teaching approach developed by our experts to help students truly understand how algebra works.
We start with what each student already knows and build upon that foundation, introducing algebraic concepts gradually to promote deep understanding and long-term retention. By focusing on clarity, logic, and step-by-step learning, we help students truly understand and even enjoy algebra.
Students begin their Mathnasium journey with a diagnostic assessment designed to identify current skills, potential gaps, and academic goals. Using assessment-based insights, we design a personalized learning plan that addresses each student’s specific needs, whether they’re looking to catch up, keep up, or get ahead.
Our tutors follow the plan closely and adapt instruction in real time, ensuring steady progress and lasting confidence. Students advance at a pace that allows them to truly understand the concepts they’re working with and develop a deeper appreciation for algebra.
