Alberto earned a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Universidad de las Américas–Puebla and later completed a PhD in Mathematics at the University of Ottawa, specializing in Probability Theory. He also worked as a postdoctoral researcher at McGill University.
While tutoring in university math help centers, Alberto developed a passion for helping students build a strong foundation in math. That experience inspired him and his wife, Adriana, to open Mathnasium in Kanata. In his spare time, Alberto enjoys spending time with his family, watching sports, and playing the occasional video game.
Adriana holds a B.Sc. in Actuarial Science and came to Canada to pursue a PhD in Mathematics at the University of Ottawa. While tutoring in the university's Math Help Centre, she discovered how much she loved teaching students of all ages and levels.
She saw how early support makes a lifelong difference in students’ confidence and academic success. That belief led her and her husband, Alberto, to open Mathnasium to bring early, personalized math instruction to families in Ottawa.
Francis taught high school math and science for 20 years with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board before taking time off to raise his children. Now back in the classroom, he brings deep experience and extraordinary patience to his role at Mathnasium.
His love for teaching and calm presence make him a favorite among students. When he’s not at the center or with his family, Francis enjoys roaming the forest with a map and compass in hand.
