Shalini is the Centre Director at Mathnasium of Castlemore. She holds a Bachelor of Education, is an Ontario Certified Teacher, and has additional qualifications in Special Education and Montessori Elementary teaching. She has taught across Canada and internationally and contributed to curriculum development for the IB and British National curriculums.
Shalini is passionate about helping children overcome their fear of math and discover how it connects to their daily lives. She brings energy and creativity to every session, ensuring each child enjoys learning math in a way that makes sense to them.
Wajeeha is pursuing an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Applied Mathematics and Statistics at York University. She aspires to become an actuary and enjoys blending problem-solving with real-world decision-making. Her teaching style emphasizes confidence, communication, and building academic independence in students.
Wajeeha thrives in social environments and enjoys shaping young minds while learning from them in return. When she is not teaching, she enjoys swimming, planning fun events for kids, and discovering new coffee spots around town.
Jackie had completed a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics for Education at York University. He currently is aspiring to advance his career of education within the realms of mathematics and physics. He is very adaptive to each student's unique learning style and finds great fulfillment in teaching. His approach to lessons focuses on patience, and understanding concepts vs amount of work completed. Jackie has years under his belt as a one on one tutor for both mathematics He has taught students ranging from elementary to University entry level. While not engaged with teaching, he has dabbled in many different hobbies not limited to Kendo, Dungeons and Dragons, painting, writing, and many others, and is always open to new ones or sharing his passions with the students.
Amina is a passionate math instructor with a strong interest in problem-solving and analytical thinking. She aspires to become an actuary. Her teaching style focuses on building students’ confidence, strengthening their understanding of math concepts, and creating a supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to grow. Amina enjoys helping students develop both their skills and their confidence in mathematics while sharing her passion for the subject. She values patience, communication, and making learning engaging for every student she works with. Her students inspire her through their perseverance and will to succeed. Outside of teaching, she enjoys working on different coding projects, playing chess, and reading. Her favourite math quote is: “The only way to learn mathematics is to do mathematics.”
Jason is a Computer Science graduate with a strong passion for mathematics and education. He enjoys helping students build confidence in math by breaking down complex concepts into clear, simple steps and making learning both engaging and approachable. Jason loves the Mathnasium approach because it helps students build confidence while mastering math fundamentals. In his free time, Jason enjoys coding personal projects and exploring new ideas in technology. Jason’s favourite math joke is: “Why was the equal sign so humble? Because it knew it wasn’t less than or greater than anyone else.”
Abinaya is pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing, along with a minor in Business Law. She is passionate about creativity, communication, and understanding how businesses connect with people. Her approach emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and helping others grow with confidence. Mathnasium’s customized approach allows Abinaya to support students in ways that best fit their individual learning styles and help them build confidence in math. She is highly creative and is often seen at the centre organizing the calendar, planning engaging activities, and bringing fun events to life for students and families.
