Vaibhav

INSTRUCTOR

Hi, I’m Vaibhav, but feel free to call me ‘Vai’ – I know my full name can be a bit tricky to pronounce! I’ve earned my Master’s in Applied Science in Environmental Engineering from Carleton University in Ottawa, and I’m currently working as a Water and Wastewater Process Engineer EIT at AECOM Canada.

Outside of work, I love meeting new people, exploring fresh places, and trying new foods – there’s always something exciting to discover! I’ve been passionate about teaching since my school days at Carleton, and I truly believe that learning never stops. Everyone has something to teach us in life, and I’m eager to share my love of math with kids at Mathnasium.

At Mathnasium, I aim to create an environment where kids feel welcomed, excited, and have fun learning math. I want every child I work with to feel comfortable and encouraged, making math an enjoyable experience while fostering a love for learning that goes beyond the classroom.

William G

INSTRUCTOR
Hi! My name is William G, and I’m a first year student studying mathematics at the University of Toronto. I’ve always enjoyed math and its problem solving aspects, which is why I’ve decided to pursue math and teaching. In my free time, I enjoy playing video games, going to the park with my friends, or playing sports like soccer, badminton and basketball. My passion for problem solving extends beyond academics, it even appears in the games I like to play! I love playing puzzle and strategy games, like Pokemon (my favourite game!), and fun fact: my favourite Pokemon is Turtwig!

At Mathnasium, I hope to share my passion for problem solving and help students build confidence in their math skills. My goal is to create a positive and engaging learning environment where everyone can thrive. I look forward to honing my skills as an educator and inspire students to truly love math!

Hawk

INSTRUCTOR

Hi, I'm Hawk! I'm a 3rd year Chemical Engineering student at McMaster University taking a year off! I'm super interested in foreign languages (working on my DALF C1 right now) and have some experience teaching them to kids from elementary to high school. In my spare time, I love to geek out about Effective Altruism, neuroscience, and AI safety!

In my time at Mathnasium, I am looking forward to helping kids learn to overcome their fear of math and to develop more confidence around learning generally, especially in self-directed ways beyond the school curriculum. Having gotten a small taste of the culture here, I have a feeling that this is just the place to be to really be able to teach toward actual conceptual understanding and mastery beyond just memorization in a positive, stimulating environment!

Pranjal

INSTRUCTOR

Hi! My name is Pranjal, and I’m currently studying Computer Programming and Analysis at

Seneca Polytechnic. I’ve been tutoring students from Grades 2 to 10 for over a year, making math

lessons playful and interactive with visual games, creative activities, and real-world examples. I love

painting and getting lost in mystery and sci-fi novels, and I’m always up for solving complex problems—

whether it’s a tricky math equation or a challenging puzzle.

At Mathnasium, I’m excited to share my love for math and help students see it not as a chore, but as a

series of fun challenges waiting to be solved. I believe every problem is an opportunity to think

differently, grow skills, and feel that “aha!” moment. I’m looking forward to inspiring confidence,

curiosity, and a genuine enjoyment of math in every student I meet here!

Leon

LEAD INSTRUCTOR (currently away)

Hey there! My name is Leon, and I just graduated high school in June, and will be starting at the University of Waterloo & Laurier this fall. If there’s one thing that I’m sure about myself, it’s that I love learning. During math lessons, I often find that a burst of fascination will escape me, presenting itself as, “That’s so cool!” When I first started out as a peer tutor at my school, I would constantly hear heavy sighs followed by comments pertaining to, “I guess I’m just bad at Math.” But day after day, I would see the students I tutored improve foundational skills such as problem solving and perseverance. I grew to understand that every kid has the unlimited potential to excel at math, with the right support and an environment that fosters learning and curiosity. That’s exactly what I plan to achieve during my time at Mathnasium. I like to think of myself as a simple person: I love learning; I love math; and I love sharing my passions. I hope to grow alongside the students at Mathnasium as I continue to develop my skills as an educator and I explore my love for Math!

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.
