Tania is the Owner and Centre Director at Mathnasium of Oak Ridges. She earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Waterloo and spent over a decade working at Scotiabank before taking time off to raise her children. While seeking supplemental education for her kids, Tania discovered the Mathnasium Method™ and was inspired by its effective approach to teaching math.
Her passion for helping children succeed led her to open her own centre. Tania is dedicated to making math meaningful for every student and takes pride in helping them build confidence and discover a love for learning.
More than thirty-five years ago, Larry Martinek set out to find a better way to teach children math. As a teacher-trainer, educational consultant, and parent of a mathematically gifted child, he gained a broad perspective on math education in both public and private schools.
Larry identified a critical gap between basic skills instruction and grade-level expectations. In response, he developed the Mathnasium Method™, an approach focused on building number sense and deep understanding rather than rote memorization. His work empowers students to think mathematically and build lasting confidence.
Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.
