Nassi Zamani is the Centre Director at Mathnasium of Pickering, where she is dedicated to helping students build confidence and develop a genuine love for math. With over seven years of experience in various roles- including Centre Director, Assistant Centre Director and Instructor- at Mathnasium, she has guided countless students toward academic success by fostering a warm, supportive, and engaging learning environment. Known for her patience and strong communication with families, Nassi takes pride in mentoring her team and ensuring every student receives the individualized support they need to thrive. Holding a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Concordia University in Montreal, she combines analytical thinking with a compassionate leadership style that inspires both students and staff. In her free time, Nassi enjoys expressing her creativity through crafting, caring for her plants, teaching and practicing yoga.
Katie holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph and has recently completed her Bachelor of Education at Ontario Tech University, with the goal of teaching students in Grades 1 to 6. She has a strong passion for mathematics, her favourite subject throughout school, and enjoys helping students develop confidence and foundational skills in problem solving. Katie believes that all students are capable of learning and thrives on supporting each learner’s individual growth. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring new sports, and challenging herself with puzzles.
Jie holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics and has extensive experience as both a tutor and lecturer. He brings deep knowledge of mathematics and physics to the classroom and is especially skilled at helping students improve their study habits, note-taking techniques, and test-taking strategies.
Jie is committed to building strong relationships with students, parents, and educators. His well-rounded teaching approach ensures students receive the academic support and motivation they need to grow their math confidence.
Shahela is an experienced math teacher and tutor with over 10 years of experience. She holds bachelor's and master's degrees in Education, Physics, and Mathematics. Her passion for teaching shines through in every session she leads at Mathnasium.
She loves guiding students of all ages to academic success and building their math confidence. Shahela is excited to continue helping students thrive by making math understandable, enjoyable, and empowering.
Varmanaa holds a degree in mathematics from the University of Waterloo. He comes with many years of experience tutoring students in a wide variety of math topics. He is passionate about sharing his love for mathematics with everyone! Outside of mathematics, Varmanaa enjoys running and playing mahjong.
Saood holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering. He is passionate about helping young learners develop a love and appreciation for math. Drawn to Mathnasium for its mission to foster math skills in students, Saood is excited to share enthusiasm for the subject with the next generation. He believes that though the world is vast, there is no great gift than that of education, from which endless opportunities arise. Outside of his interest in teaching, Saood works as a Software Developer, bringing both analytical and problem-solving skills to his role as an instructor. In his personal life he enjoys learning new skills and helping others.
Victoria is currently studying in the Co-op Physical and Environmental Sciences programme at the University of Toronto Scarborough, where she plans to major in biochemistry. In high school, she earned Distinction and received certificates for Outstanding Science Scholarship and Excellence in French.
Victoria has worked with children through programmes at the Pickering Public Library and in local tutoring roles. She enjoys sharing her love of math by helping students build confidence. Outside of Mathnasium, she enjoys reading, knitting, and caring for her two betta fish, Minnie and Lulu.
Tristan is a high performing Grade 12 student. Tristan has a passion for helping others succeed in math. He has experience as a head instructor at Swimtime, where he taught both babies and adults. Tristan learned how to be patient, adapt lessons to different learning styles, and make learning fun for everyone. Tristan is excited to be a Mathnasium instructor because he loves helping students gain confidence in math. He believes that anyone can improve in math with the right guidance, encouragement, and practice. Outside of school, Tristan plays competitive soccer with the Scarborough Academy, enjoys staying active, and values teamwork both on and off the field. He also enjoys spending time with friends and family, and brings energy and enthusiasm to everything he does.
