  • What math classes can your Vaughan tutors help with?

Mathnasium’s specially trained tutors can help students learn and master any K-12 math class or topic, from basic arithmetic through algebra, geometry, and advanced high school math.

Our learning plans are tailored to each student’s unique learning needs and style, so they can receive focused instruction and make meaningful progress toward their goals.

  • How long is each session?

Our sessions are typically one hour for students from grades 1 through 8 though we do make exceptions on a case by case basis and will allow for longer sessions. High school students have the option of attending either 1 or 1.5 hour sessions if necessary.

  • Do the topics in your centre line up with the Ontario curriculum?

Yes, our education department works tirelessly on staying current with the Ontario curriculum. We want our students to be aligned with this curriculum in order to not only fill gaps, but to experience daily success in the classroom.

  • What does mathematics tutoring cost at Mathnasium of Vaughan?

Mathnasium of Vaughan provides premium value through a flat monthly membership and a one-time enrolment fee.

Most students attend two to three times per week. After a diagnostic assessment, we design a personalized learning plan with recommended session frequency based on your child’s goals. Contact us at [email protected] to learn more.

  • Why do you require an assessment for enrolment?

Each student begins their enrolment process with a diagnostic assessment to understand their current skill level, identify learning gaps, and set academic goals. This allows us to create a personalized learning plan that supports their unique path to success.

  • How do you teach math? What curriculum do you use?

At Mathnasium of Vaughan, we do not follow a traditional curriculum. We use our proprietary approach called the Mathnasium Method™, which combines personalized learning plans with proven teaching techniques to develop solid foundations for math mastery.

Our approach builds on each student’s existing knowledge, addressing the gaps in their understanding and introducing new concepts gradually and in a logical sequence. We work with students to expand their mathematical thinking so they can build the skills and confidence to excel in the classroom and beyond.

  • Do you use calculators?

We do not use calculators in our centre for elementary students as we want them to understand each of the steps they are taking while doing calculations. High school students may require calculators and we allow them to use them as needed.

  • Do you work with advanced students or students who are struggling with math?

We support students of all skill levels.

Students who are behind in math class receive caring, targeted instruction to rebuild foundational skills and confidence. Advanced learners benefit from enrichment opportunities that challenge their thinking and deepen their understanding.

Absolutely! We welcome students from homeschool, public, and private school backgrounds across Vaughan and surrounding communities.

Our flexible scheduling and personalized instruction complement homeschooling programmes and goals.

Our test prep includes personalized learning plans, targeted practice, and strategies to build both skills and test-taking confidence.

If a parent does not want their child to have their cell phone on the teaching floor, they can have their student leave it at the front desk until their session is concluded.
