• Does Mathnasium of Annapolis offer online tutoring?

  Yes! Mathnasium of Annapolis offers both in-center and online tutoring. Whether students attend online or in person, they receive personalized, face-to-face instruction from our specially trained tutors in a fun and engaging group environment that encourages learning and growth.

• Is there a difference between online and in-person tutoring?

  No. Students who attend online sessions receive the same personalized learning plans and live, face-to-face instruction they would get in the center. All sessions are led by our specially trained tutors who guide students through their learning plan with consistent support.

• What math classes can your Annapolis tutors help with?

  Our tutors help students in grades K–12 with a wide range of math topics from early arithmetic and number sense to Algebra and Geometry.

  Mathnasium of Annapolis, provides premium value tutoring by combining a superior learning experience with an efficient monthly fee structure that keeps costs low.    

  There is a flat enrollment fee for our program, and students attend regularly. After a diagnostic assessment, we create a personalized learning plan with a recommended session frequency tailored to your child’s goals.

• Is there a difference between the cost of online and in-center math tutoring?

  No. Whether your student attends sessions online, in person, or in a hybrid format, the membership fee remains the same.

• Why do you require an assessment for enrollment?

  Each student begins with a comprehensive assessment. This helps us understand their current math skills, identify knowledge gaps, and establish academic goals. Using these insights, we create a personalized learning plan tailored to their unique needs.

• How do you teach math? What curriculum do you use?

  At Mathnasium of Annapolis, we don’t use a fixed curriculum. Instead, we apply the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach that combines personalized learning plans with proven instructional techniques to help students truly understand and even enjoy math. 

  This approach helps students make sense of math by breaking down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps. It supports the development of solid foundations for math mastery while enhancing problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and confidence that extends beyond the classroom. 

• Do you work with advanced students or with students who are struggling with math?

  Yes. Our tutors support students at all skill levels.  

  Students who need extra support benefit from targeted instruction that helps close learning gaps and strengthen foundational skills. Advanced learners are challenged with enrichment material that encourages deeper mathematical thinking and continued growth.

• Do you work with homeschooled students in Annapolis?

  Absolutely. We support K–12 students from all educational backgrounds, including public, private, and homeschool programs throughout Annapolis, Davidsonville, Edgewater, and nearby communities.

• Do you help students with their math homework?

  Yes. Our tutors set aside time during each session to help students with their math homework and ensure they understand the material being taught in school.

• Does Mathnasium assign homework to students?

  No. All learning takes place in the center or online, under the care of our specially trained tutors. We do not assign homework, allowing students to stay focused and make measurable progress during their sessions.

• Does Mathnasium of Annapolis prepare students for math on standardized tests?

  Yes! Mathnasium of Annapolis prepares students for school-based and standardized math tests, including state assessments, ACT®, and SAT®.   

  Our test prep includes personalized learning plans, targeted practice, and strategies to build both skills and test-taking confidence.
