Elizabeth earned her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Troy University and brings several years of math tutoring experience to Mathnasium. An Alabama native, she loves helping students strengthen their skills and discover that math can be fun and rewarding.
Elizabeth enjoys connecting with students at every level and guiding them toward confidence in problem-solving. Outside of work, she loves to travel and has already explored twelve countries—a passion that reflects her curiosity and love of learning. She believes Mathnasium is the perfect place to inspire the same spirit in her students.
Jake Johnson is one of the proud owners of Mathnasium of Auburn. He graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor’s in Secondary Math Education and later earned his Master’s in the same field. Before joining Mathnasium, Jake worked as the Athletic Director for the Boys and Girls Club in Auburn, where he developed a deep passion for youth education.
Since joining Mathnasium in 2014, Jake has found joy in teaching students at their individual learning levels, helping them build lasting confidence in math. In his free time, he enjoys basketball, swimming, and cheering on his favorite sports teams.
Chris is a proud father of three and a long-time advocate for math education. He and his wife, Holly, discovered Mathnasium in 2005 while seeking a meaningful career change, and it has transformed both their lives and their community. Over the years, Chris has helped shape Mathnasium’s operational and educational systems while personally mentoring hundreds of students.
He believes math shouldn’t be intimidating—it’s simply another language to understand the world. Through clear instruction and encouragement, Chris helps students develop confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
Gretta is a graduate of the University of Florida and brings nearly 20 years of teaching experience to Mathnasium. Her passion for education is rooted in a lifelong desire to help students unlock their potential and see math as both meaningful and empowering.
She loves traveling to destinations that require a passport and giving back through community service. As a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Gretta continues to live out her commitment to education and mentorship, inspiring students to succeed inside and outside the classroom.
Kaelyn is a student at Auburn High School. She was a student at Mathnasium for a year but has now become an instructor! She enjoys playing piano, reading, and traveling. She looks forward to inspiring students to see math in a new way, just like her instructors inspired her before.
Kaylee is a student at Auburn University majoring in Applied Mathematics with a concentration in Actuarial Science. She's always had a passion for math and loves helping others feel more confident and excited about learning it. She enjoys connecting with others, building meaningful relationships and supporting those around her. In her free time, she loves being outdoors at the lake or beach, staying active, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Emma is a senior at Auburn University from Alexander City, AL majoring in biomedical sciences and minoring in psychology. Some of Emma's favorite things are the summertime, going to the lake, and sports (especially softball and volleyball). Like when playing sports, Emma carries her love for helping and motivating others into our center, where she cheers on our students while they learn!
Zander is studying mechanical engineering at Auburn University. He plays trumpet in the Auburn marching band and is in a number of other bands at Auburn. In his free time, he also enjoys cycling, running, building Legos, and playing with his dog Louie. Zander is from Chelsea, AL and graduated from Chelsea High School in 2024. He has a passion for math and is excited to teach it to others.
Auston is a student at Auburn University from Frisco, Texas, majoring in Civil Engineering with a minor in Business. He is also a news writer for the Auburn Plainsman, the university newspaper. He enjoys learning and teaching, and likes to help students build their confidence in math through mentorship and guidance at Mathnasium. Outside of the center, Auston likes traveling and spending time with his family.
Luke is a student at Auburn University from Chicago, Illinois, and is majoring in Finance and Business Analytics. He has always had a passion for math and enjoys seeing students gain confidence as they solve problems and reach their goals. Outside of work, he enjoys running, playing sports, and spending time with friends and family.
Jack is a student at Auburn University, majoring in Chemical Engineering. He's from Hartselle, Alabama. When he's not at Mathnasium, he enjoys cooking and kayaking.
