Elva

Instructor

Elva is a junior at the Girls' Academic Leadership Academy in Los Angeles and is passionate about helping students grow in math. She enjoys getting to know learners and supporting them as they build confidence and develop problem-solving skills. 

Her enthusiasm for both learning and teaching math shines through in every session. Outside of Mathnasium, Elva enjoys reading, painting, and watching movies.

Joseph O.

Assistant Center Director

Joseph is currently studying Astrophysics and plans to pursue a PhD with the long-term goal of becoming a professor and researcher of cosmology. He has a deep appreciation for learning and values the wisdom and personal growth that come from each class he takes. With a strong analytical mindset and curiosity about the universe, he enjoys helping others break down complex ideas into concepts that are clear and intuitive.

Joseph strives to create an encouraging and thoughtful learning environment where students feel more confident engaging with challenging material. Outside of academics, he enjoys collecting coins and writing poetry, hiking, and stargazing, blending his analytical side with creative expression.

Ruben

My name is Ruben. I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I attended California State University Northridge and majored in mathematics. Outside of math, my other passions are running, playing chess, and reading.


Tal

Instructor

My name is Tal Nitka, and I'm a senior in high school.  I enjoy helping students build confidence and improve their math skills.  Outside of work, I love playing the piano, volunteering in my community, and playing basketball with friends.  I'm passionate about learning and always looking for ways to grow and support others.

Brandon Meyers

General Manager

Brandon Meyers is a Center Director at Mathnasium and is an almost lifelong Las Vegas resident, having grown up in the Las Vegas Valley since middle school.

Prior to joining Mathnasium, Brandon spent 10 years in management roles, where he developed strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills that he now brings into his work with students, families, and staff.

Brandon is very family-oriented and is a proud father of three daughters. He values building strong relationships with students and families and creating a supportive learning environment where students can grow in confidence and skill.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing video games.

Lauren Perkins

Director of Education

Lauren moved from California to Nevada in 2023 and quickly found a home at Mathnasium. She holds degrees in mathematics, anthropology, and liberal arts, and credits her success in math to the amazing teachers she’s had throughout her life. She believes that a strong math foundation is key to academic success and lifelong confidence. 

As Center Director, Lauren is passionate about supporting students on their math journey and is deeply committed to the Mathnasium Method. Outside the center, she enjoys interior decorating, participating in Twitch streams, and spending time with her cat, Beans.

Dan Saposhnik

CEO and Owner

Dan holds a B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Arizona and an MBA in Accounting from Hofstra University. He began his career as a CPA with Price Waterhouse and later built successful businesses in real estate and executive recruiting. 

With a family-rooted passion for education, Dan has taught and mentored students of all ages. As CEO and Owner of Mathnasium of Beverly Hills South, he is committed to helping children strengthen their math skills, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

Laurie Saposhnik

Vice President and Co-Owner

Laurie earned a B.A. in Communication Studies from UCLA and spent over two decades building a career with Fortune 500 tech companies. Inspired by her father, a dedicated special education teacher for over 30 years, she brings a lifelong commitment to empowering children through education. 

At Mathnasium, Laurie is passionate about helping students in the Beverly Hills community strengthen their math understanding and self-confidence. She also serves as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), advocating for the well-being of children in foster care and reflecting her deep dedication to making a difference.
