Rachel is the Owner and Center Director at Mathnasium of Burke, where she has 14 years of experience helping students build a love of math. She graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a minor in Accounting. A lifelong math enthusiast, Rachel especially enjoys algebra and probability and believes math should be clear, logical, and fun to learn.
As a mother of two in Fairfax County, Rachel understands firsthand how competitive the educational landscape in Northern Virginia can be. Through the Mathnasium Method™, she helps students build strong foundational skills and lasting confidence, giving them the edge they need to succeed. She's especially passionate about watching children shift from a negative attitude toward learning to seeing math become their favorite subject, and about creating an environment where kids can develop a positive attitude toward math and lifelong learning.
Daniel graduated with a Bachelor’s of Music in Music Education with a focus in Voice at George Mason University. He’s worked at Mathnasium for five years and loves the joy of helping students grow in both understanding and confidence. His signature teaching skill always improves a student’s independence and confidence by encouraging the students to search for the “why” behind every topic and to “ask themselves the question.”
For Daniel, math is like a puzzle, with each problem offering a chance to think critically and creatively. He brings that same energy to every session, inspiring students to see math as both fun and rewarding.
Steven graduated from George Mason with a Bachelor's of Science in Computational and Data Science. His love for math started at a very young age, and his passion for teaching only leads him to devote more time and effort into helping students learn to do math and love math the same way that he does.
To Steven, math is about understanding why things work the way they do, and how to apply it anywhere, even in places that one would least expect math to show up. He is always pushing students to broaden their perspective and to think outside of the box, applying everything they have learned wherever they can, regardless of how irrelevant it may seem.
Max is majoring in Computer Science with minors in Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence at Drexel University. His passion for math began early and deepened as he explored how mathematical concepts drive real-world problem-solving in coding and technology.
At Mathnasium, Max loves helping students discover math’s usefulness and beauty. His goal is to show how the skills they learn can apply far beyond the classroom.
Bevin is a senior at Lake Braddock Secondary School, and is planning to major in physics or a related field in college. He has always loved working with numbers from a young age, and wants to spread that same excitement to others.
Bevin aims to grow student’s understanding, as well as their confidence in math. He believes that the foundational problem-solving skills gained from math can lead to lifelong success.
Kali is a senior at Lake Braddock Secondary School who has had a profound passion for problem-solving and mathematics from a very early age. She has been helping students succeed at Mathnasium as a Lead Instructor for over a year by making math engaging, approachable, and enjoyable. Kali deeply believes that every student can become a confident problem solver when concepts are taught in a way that makes sense to them.
Kali views math as a language of patterns, logic, and creativity, and she guides students to recognize these elements in every session. She is passionately committed to helping students strengthen their critical thinking skills, celebrate their successes, and build confidence that extends into all areas of learning, all while instilling in them that math can be fun and satisfying!
