Amy is the proud owner of Mathnasium of Cary IL and Wauconda. Before opening her first center in 2018, she spent over a decade as a public school teacher. She holds a BA in Elementary Education from Carthage College and an MA in Gifted Education from Northeastern Illinois University.
As a lifelong local resident, Amy is passionate about supporting students in the greater Cary area. She’s committed to helping every child understand math in a way that makes sense to them and loves being part of each student’s journey to greater confidence and success.
Mandy is a lifelong McHenry County resident with a passion for education and community empowerment. She holds an Early Childhood Development Certificate from McHenry County College and has studied Psychology at Arizona State University.
Mandy brings years of nonprofit experience, including roles as Recreation Specialist and Job Developer. She’s dedicated to creating inclusive learning environments where every student can thrive. Outside of Mathnasium, Mandy enjoys spending time with her husband and twin boys, especially on walks and family dinners.
Emily has been a part of the Mathnasium team for nearly four years. With an Associate of Arts and currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, she brings both dedication and enthusiasm to the learning environment. Emily is passionate about helping students grow and finds joy in watching their confidence and skills develop over time. She strives to make every session both fun and productive, with a strong emphasis on mental math strategies to build long-term understanding. Outside of Mathnasium, Emily enjoys painting, listening to music, and spending time with her family.
Avery holds a B.A. in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Spanish from Auburn University. She has nearly a decade of tutoring experience and a strong passion for helping students succeed in math.
Avery recently moved from Atlanta to Crystal Lake with her husband to be closer to family. Outside of teaching, she enjoys cooking, birdwatching, and hiking with her dog. She loves helping students strengthen their problem-solving skills and discover the joy of math.
Brad has been inspiring young learners for more than 17 years as an elementary school teacher at Pritchett Elementary in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Northern Illinois University and a Master’s Degree in Literature from the American College of Education. Brad values the strong foundation math provides, knowing it can open doors to success in science, technology, and even the arts. He loves helping students see how math connects to the world around them and building their confidence along the way. Outside of teaching, Brad enjoys supporting his two high school–aged daughters in their activities, cheering on the Chicago Cubs, diving into a good book, and going for a run.
Pranaav is a senior at Prairie Ridge High School with a passion for education and problem-solving. He discovered his love for teaching his sophomore year while tutoring classmates in AP Calculus BC. With experience tutoring in various settings, he enjoys helping students gain a better understanding and appreciation for math. Outside of Mathnasium, you’ll likely find him playing tennis or seated at a chessboard.
Before joining Mathnasium, Raji was a full-time mom, raising her daughter while also teaching herself concepts in Data Science. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering and a Master of Business Administration in Systems and Finance, and she brings a strong background in mathematics. Raji is excited to pursue her childhood dream of teaching, especially math, which has always been one of her favorite subjects to learn and share with others. In her free time, she enjoys painting, traveling, exploring different cuisines, and playing fantasy football.
Kayla is a Senior at Cary Grove High School, that has taken AP Calculus AB and is currently taking Statistics. She is involved in many clubs and activities at her school including CG Buddies, CG Tennis, Musical and Student Council. She has developed her passion for math over many years, especially involving algebra and calculus. Kayla wants to help others to not only succeed in math, but also grow to love learning about it. In her future career, Kayla hopes to study and become a Biochemist.
Kyle is currently a Sophomore at Jacob’s High School and is taking Calculus BC. Kyle has always loved math since kindergarten and loves watching others finally understand a topic after struggling with it for a while. If you asked Kyle his favorite number, he’d say i, even if it’s just in his imagination. In his free time, Kyle loves the outdoors, and you can often find him rock climbing, camping, or backpacking with Troop 368 Algonquin. He also loves computer science and cats.
Cara is a Sophomore at Cary Grove High School and is currently taking Honors Pre-Calculus. She likes reading a good book with some tea during her free time, or competing in taekwondo tournaments. Her favorite subject in school has always been math ever since she was young and still is to this day. Cara likes helping kids understand math and seeing the moment they get what they’re working on. In the future, she hopes to pursue a field of engineering.
Samia is a junior at Jacob’s High School and is currently taking AP Precalculus. She developed a love for teaching while babysitting kids and helping them with their math homework. In school, Samia is involved in Science Olympiad, Key Club, and Badminton Club. Outside the classroom, she enjoys reading, baking, and playing tennis with her friends. By joining Mathnasium, Samia hopes to instill a lifelong passion for mathematics in others.
Julia is a Junior at Cary Grove High School who is currently taking AP Calculus BC. She is involved in multiple sports at Cary Grove including flag football and soccer. Julia has loved math since grade school and plans to study actuarial science in college. She became interested in tutoring during her sophomore and junior years of high school when she would help her peers understand difficult topics in math. Julia’s main goal at mathnasium is to help others understand and appreciate math the way she does!
Sofia is a junior at Cary-Grove High School currently taking AP Calculus BC. With a love for teaching, she brings an empathetic and passionate dedication to the center. She is also a part of many activities at Cary-Grove including flag football, track and field, CG Interact, and CG Buddies. Sofia strives to encourage and support those learning at every level, and is excited to get more students interested in math!
Haley is a Sophomore at Cary Grove High School who is taking Honors Pre-Calculus. Outside of work, Haley enjoys painting, reading, playing and listening to her favorite music, and contributing to Tech Crew for the school plays and musicals. Haley has had a strong passion for math since her earliest school days, and is excited to help more kids understand the subject.
Aiden holds an A.S. from McHenry County College and is currently pursuing a B.S. in Civil Engineering at University of Illinois Chicago. He has a strong background in college-level mathematics, and he wishes to share his passion for the subject through teaching at Mathnasium. Aiden believes there to be no greater satisfaction than that "click" when the math finally starts making sense, and it is this feeling that drives his love for math and problem solving. Outside of Mathnasium, Aiden enjoys weightlifting, producing music, and cooking.
