Dan has always been drawn to mathematics and programming, pursuing both from a young age and completing dual enrollment courses at J Sargent Reynolds Community College while in School. Dan later studied Computer Science at Virginia Commonwealth University and went on to teach at and lead a CodeNinjas center before transitioning fully into math education with Mathnasium. Dan is passionate about making math fun, approachable, and confidence-building for every student, finding creative ways to spark curiosity and excitement about learning. Outside of Mathnasium, Dan likes developing and playing video games, cooking, and painting miniature figures.
Austin holds a degree in Mathematics from James Madison University and has been with Mathnasium since 2019. He’s led multiple centers as Center Director and now supports teams across locations in his role as Area Manager.
Austin’s enthusiasm for math and education is matched by his creative side—he minored in film studies and enjoys filmmaking, podcasting, and reading in his free time. His goal is to help students and teams grow with clarity and confidence.
Jeff earned a degree in Economics from James Madison University before shifting career paths to education. He later completed a Master’s in Education at George Mason University and spent ten years teaching math at both the high school and college levels. His leadership experience also includes operations and training roles with two national restaurant brands.
Now back in the world of math education, Jeff brings passion and expertise to his role at Mathnasium. When not working to change lives through math, Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife of 28 years, their two dogs, and visiting their three grown children.
James discovered his love for math during middle and high school and went on to earn a Mathematics degree from the University of Virginia in 2000. He then served seven years in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft maintenance officer, where he also began tutoring homeschooled students.
That experience helped him understand the challenges many kids face with math. In 2007, he returned to UVA to earn his MBA from the Darden School of Business. Today, James leads with a mission to empower students and remove the intimidation around learning math.
