Folake Ibe
Owner/Center Director
As both a Mathnasium parent and a passionate advocate for education, I’ve seen firsthand how mastering math can transform a child’s confidence, not just in math, but across all areas of learning. I believe Mathnasium’s greatest strength is The Mathnasium Method™ - a proven approach that builds number sense, develops a deep understanding of math concepts, and makes math make sense. Seeing how this method improved my own children’s proficiency and confidence inspired me to invest in this vision, because I believe every child deserves this opportunity.
With years of experience in the technology industry, I understand how essential math and critical thinking are for success in today’s technology-driven world. Throughout my career, I’ve remained committed to supporting education and helping to create opportunities that shape bright futures. I’m excited to bring Mathnasium to the community we call home and share a resource that has been so impactful for my own family.
At Mathnasium of Clinton, our mission is simple: to help every child build confidence in math, strengthen their skills, and develop a genuine love for learning.
Irenaus Ibe
Center Operations Manager
Hi, I’m Irenaus, husband to Folake, fellow Mathnasium parent, and proud co-pilot on this adventure. We started Mathnasium of Clinton together with one clear goal: to create a place where kids could build confidence and truly get math.
These days, you won’t always find me at the front desk, but I’m always working behind the scenes to make sure things run smoothly, whether that’s handling logistics, being the unofficial snack inspector, or just cheering our students (and staff) on.
As a parent of three Mathnasium kids myself, I know what a difference this program makes. I believe in what we’re building here, and I’m excited to help create a space where kids feel supported, challenged, and successful in math, and in life.
Je'Sika Brown
Instructor
Born and raised in Prince George’s County, MD, I’m proud to serve the same community that shaped me. I’m a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature. As both an educator and a lifelong learner, I love helping others build confidence as they learn new skills. Outside of the center, you can usually find me traveling, catching up on TV and movies, or spending quality time with family and friends.
Joe Frey
Curriculum and Instructional Lead
I grew up in Wisconsin before making my way to Maryland, where my passion for mathematics has shaped both my education and career. I was a math major in college and spent much of that time tutoring, followed by teaching high school mathematics from 2021 to 2023 at La Plata High School.
Beyond math, I have a wide range of interests, including anime, PC gaming, hiking, and literature. I even built my own computer years ago to play games on Steam, which has turned out to be a great way to connect with middle and high school students. I’m excited to meet each student who joins Mathnasium and look forward to sharing my enthusiasm for math as they continue their learning journey.

Architecture sits right at the intersection of creativity and logic, and that balance is what makes it so exciting. As an architecture student at the University of Maryland, design, sustainability, and the built environment are more than areas of study. They are ways to turn ideas into spaces that work and inspire.
A lifelong love of both math and art naturally led to architecture, where structure, problem-solving, and creativity come together in tangible ways. Because math has always felt fun and intuitive, there is a real joy in helping others see it the same way and discover that it can be engaging and approachable.
Outside the center, downtime is usually spent watching movies, crafting, or getting lost in a good book.
Students can take 3 easy steps to enroll at Mathnasium.
All students begin their Mathnasium journey with a diagnostic assessment that pinpoints what they already know and what they still need to learn.

Mathnasium provides premium value by combining a superior learning experience with an efficient structure that keeps costs low. There is a flat enrollment fee for our program, and students attend regularly—much like a gym membership. We recommend that they attend Mathnasium 2-3 times per week as attending less frequently will slow results and attending too often could lead to student burnout. Pricing varies by program and geographic area. Contact our center for more details on enrollment packages.
We use the Mathnasium Method™, a proprietary teaching approach which combines personalized learning plans with proven techniques to build math knowledge upon what students already know, so they're able to retain what they learn and gain confidence along the way.
No. All learning occurs under the efficient and effective guidance of our trained instructors. Adding homework would risk frustration and overload. In fact, we'll set aside some time each session to help your student with their school homework.
