Betsy holds a Bachelor’s in Business Management from Arizona State University and a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governor’s University. She earned her teaching certificate in Southeast Missouri and taught junior high and high school math for 11 years.
Her experience as Center Director at Mathnasium of Blue Valley in Kansas fueled her passion for the Mathnasium Method™ and helping students make sense of math. Betsy returned to Phoenix in 2018 to be near her family. She has two married children and is excited to welcome her first grandchild in 2025. Betsy enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with family.
Tammie grew up in Glendale alongside her sister and co-owner, Betsy. Before joining Mathnasium full-time, she spent 30 years in the premium finance industry, building a strong career in business management and client support.
Her favorite part of Mathnasium is seeing students experience “aha” moments and grow in confidence. Tammie loves being part of a positive, student-focused environment where math truly makes sense. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as music, movies, reading, and traveling.
Maxwell is a graduate of Northern Arizona University with degrees in mathematics, chemistry, and criminology. He has always been fascinated by math’s versatility and the unique ways students approach problem-solving.
He enjoys fostering a positive learning environment and helping students develop strong skills and confidence. Outside of Mathnasium, Maxwell enjoys caring for his younger brother, reading, watching movies, and spending time with friends.
Aliya is a Pinnacle High School graduate and has been part of the Mathnasium family for nearly six years. Her experience as both a student and team member has given her a deep appreciation for the Mathnasium Method™.
She enjoys supporting students, whether they need extra help or want to get ahead. Aliya loves connecting with families and creating a welcoming atmosphere. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, spending time with her sister and her cat, and learning new skills.
Mary is a retired math teacher who brings a wealth of experience and passion for education to Mathnasium. She loves the logic of math and enjoys helping students understand concepts while building their confidence.
As Assistant Center Director, Mary values Mathnasium’s supportive, engaging atmosphere, where learning is both fun and effective. She thrives on guiding students toward success and seeing their excitement when concepts click.

Hi! I’m Monika Mattick. I have an Elementary Education degree (math emphasis) from GCU. I served for 5 years as a private math and language arts tutor in Southern California, then moved to Fountain Hills, Arizona in October 2023 with my husband, Adam. My greatest passion within education is not in the traditional classroom, but rather one-on-one tutoring. Especially math! Students have said I get way too excited for math time! My goal is to inspire your students to love math just as much! Having been homeschooled from 3rd grade through my senior year of highchool, I have a particularly deep passion for the homeschooled kids of Mathnasium. In my free time, I love to bake, do artsy projects, and spend time with family!

Hey there! My name's Anagha, and I'm a current freshman in the CREST Bioscience program at Paradise Valley High School. Math is THE universal truth - a language that everyone has the potential to speak and understand. Mathnasium combines my love of math and my passion for teaching, and it's truly amazing to watch the kids here become empowered individuals and proficient thinkers.
