Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Dylan Freedle

ACD / Lead Instructor

Dylan earned his degree in mathematics from North Carolina State University and has enjoyed working with students since his time as a camp counselor. He loves puzzles, brainteasers, and creative problem-solving, which naturally align with his teaching approach.

He believes thinking outside the box helps students succeed in math and beyond. As Lead Instructor, he enjoys teaching math in a way that makes sense and helping students develop confidence and flexible thinking skills.

Ranjeet Sunkara

Instructor

Ranjeet works at the intersection of engineering, education, and healthcare. As a mechanical engineer in renewable energy and a certified medical scribe, he brings analytical thinking and curiosity to his teaching. He enjoys making complex math concepts more accessible to students.

He is passionate about mentoring and building confidence in learners. Fluent in multiple languages, he values cross-cultural connections and enjoys supporting students as they develop problem-solving skills and a deeper understanding of math.

Cade West

Instructor

Cade is a computer science student at North Carolina State University with a strong appreciation for math’s role in problem-solving. His own challenges with math inspired him to help others learn through clear explanations and encouragement.

He enjoys showing students that math is approachable with the right guidance. Outside of school, he likes reading comic books, playing video games, and discovering new music. He hopes to pursue a career in game development.

Michael Pye

Instructor

Michael is an atmospheric scientist who loves helping students discover how numbers truly work. While studying meteorology at Plymouth State, he discovered a deep love for mathematics that led him to seek out every tutoring opportunity he could find. After earning his Master’s at the University of Utah and working for the EPA, he now develops weather models for the University of Illinois. While his career is often "in the clouds," his favorite part of the day is staying grounded at Mathnasium, helping students build a joyful, intuitive connection with math.

Jonah Bowen

Instructor

Jonah Bowen is a Mechanical Engineering student at NC State University. He began his academic career by earning his Associate’s at Wake Tech before transitioning to NC State for his undergraduate studies, where he was recently accepted into the Master’s program.

For Jonah, math is an exciting puzzle, but he finds even more joy in the "teaching puzzle"—finding the unique spark that helps a student overcome a difficult challenge. A natural problem-solver with a background as an automotive mechanic and restaurant manager, Jonah spends his free time enjoying classic films, reading, and exploring his eclectic music collection.

Ruby Cain

Instructor

Ruby is a Construction Engineering student at NC State with a strong passion for math. She works as a peer tutor in statics, solid mechanics, and fluid mechanics, helping multiple students significantly improve their grades.

Having once struggled with factoring, Ruby firmly believes anyone can excel in math with the right support. She emphasizes understanding the "why" behind concepts and values strong foundational knowledge. Ruby is dedicated to making challenging subjects approachable for all ability levels.

Grey Ardon-Lindquist

Instructor

Grey is a current Junior at Enloe High School with a deep-rooted passion for math and physics. Hoping to pursue quantum computing in the future, he greatly values quality STEM education and understands how impactful a great mentor can be.

Grey enjoys helping students look at problems in different ways to help them approach concepts that they may initially find challenging. Outside of the classroom, Grey enjoys technical theatre, studying astronomy, and spending time with his two cats.

TIsa Togin

Instructor

Tisa, an Electrical and Computer Engineering student at NC State, is interested in the intersection of math and technology to solve real-world problems.

She uses her strong analytical foundation to apply math to engineering challenges. Tisa is passionate about helping students gain confidence by simplifying complex concepts, believing anyone can succeed and enjoy math with the right support.

In her free time, she likes exploring, listening to music, and spending time with friends. She plans to work in the power and energy industry after graduation.
