When a student's math foundations are strengthened to the point where they can grasp the concepts taught in their math class, only then do we allow students to work on schoolwork for a portion of their Mathnasium sessions.
If we provide help on schoolwork prematurely, it would create a sense of dependence, not independence, within a student. Nor would it help them find confidence in math. Not a winning strategy!
