Mathnasium of Mesa South's personalized algebra tutoring programs are designed to support students at every stage of their math journey.
Following personalized learning plans, we guide students from concrete to abstract thinking, mastering integers, fractions, order of operations, and variables while developing the algebraic reasoning foundations critical for Algebra 1.
Students receive caring support through multi-step equations, linear functions, graphing, and word problems, building both skills and confidence in this pivotal course that shapes their entire math trajectory.
We prepare students for advanced coursework by tackling fast-paced topics—factoring polynomials, quadratics, exponentials, and logarithms—strengthening problem-solving abilities needed for Precalculus and college-level math.
At Mathnasium of Mesa South, our specially trained math tutors help students of all skill levels learn and master algebra, from foundational concepts to advanced algebraic equations.
We work with students enrolled in Prealgebra, Algebra 1, and Algebra 2, providing personalized, face-to-face instruction in a caring and fun group environment. Our tutors meet each student where they are, helping them fill in knowledge gaps, (re)build foundational skills, and build the confidence to tackle new challenges.
We use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach that combines diagnostic assessments, personalized learning plans, and proven interactive techniques to teach algebra in a way that makes sense.
Our tutors start with what each student already knows and build upon that foundation, introducing algebraic concepts gradually to promote deep understanding and long-term retention. By focusing on clarity, logic, and step-by-step learning, we help students truly understand — and even enjoy — how algebra works.
Students begin their Mathnasium journey with a diagnostic assessment that helps us pinpoint their current skill level, learning style, and academic goals. Using these insights, we create a personalized learning plan that addresses each student’s specific needs, whether they’re looking to catch up, keep up, or get ahead.
Our tutors follow each plan closely and adapt instruction in real time, ensuring steady progress and lasting confidence. Students advance at a pace that allows them to truly understand the concepts they’re working with and develop a deeper appreciation for algebra.

Kyle earned his Bachelor’s in Computer Science from Arizona State University and has been a key part of the Mathnasium of Mesa South team for over seven years.
Though he once struggled with math, Kyle grew to love it through his passion for solving problems. Now, he helps students find that same confidence and enjoyment. He loves seeing students’ faces light up when a concept clicks. Kyle can solve a Rubik’s cube, spent four years in marching band, and is the second oldest of his siblings. His favorite math joke? √-1 2^3 ∑ pi.
Gabby
Math Instructor
Gabby is a senior at Desert Ridge High School, where she maintains a 4.5 GPA while leading clubs like AVID and NHS. She’s passionate about math and believes learning comes from trying, failing, and trying again.
With experience tutoring since middle school, Gabby uses a patient, step-by-step approach to make math approachable. Outside of academics, she enjoys writing poetry, collecting Squishmallows, and listening to ’80s music. She runs a humorous Instagram account with over 65,000 followers and loves the color forest green. Her favorite math joke: “What do you call guys who love math? Algebros.”
Marc

At Mathnasium, he enjoys watching students develop both their skills and confidence in math. Outside the classroom, Marc spends time hiking, reading, and playing games. He also enjoys spending time with his cat Aerith. Fun fact: as an undergraduate Marc completed and went on to publish his own research in the British Journal of Clinical Psychology as first author.
