Jeff earned an Economics degree from James Madison University and later completed a Master’s in Education from George Mason University. He spent a decade teaching high school and college math before transitioning into leadership roles in operations and training for national restaurant brands.
His passion for education led him back to his roots at Mathnasium, where he now works to make math meaningful and accessible for all students. Outside of work, Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife of 28 years, their two dogs, and visiting their three adult children.
James discovered his love for math during his middle and high school years and went on to earn a Mathematics degree from the University of Virginia in 2000. He served seven years in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft maintenance officer, where he also began tutoring homeschooled students—an experience that opened his eyes to the frustrations many children face with math.
Motivated to make a difference, James returned to UVA to earn his MBA from the Darden School of Business. Today, he combines leadership and education to help students build confidence and transform their futures through math.
Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.
