Monika holds a Master of Science in Electrical Science and brings experience in both IT and education. Her background includes coordinating at a preschool and introducing mental math practices that sparked her passion for math education.
As a parent, she understands the anxiety children often face with math. Inspired by Larry Martinek’s belief in teaching math in a way that “makes sense,” Monika opened Mathnasium of Westford to help students build confidence and thrive. She volunteers in local schools and enjoys mentoring kids at nonprofit organizations on weekends.
Fangfang earned her Master of Science degree from Northeastern University and brings five years of experience helping children and youth overcome learning challenges. She is a caring and detail-oriented educator who is deeply passionate about the benefits and enjoyment that mathematics provides.
Driven by a desire to foster a positive attitude and a genuine interest in math, Fangfang is dedicated to making the subject engaging and enjoyable for every student. We are excited to have her expertise and commitment to student success at our center.
Steve holds a BA in Mathematics from Temple University and an MS from Northeastern University. With over 40 years of experience as an engineer, Steve now splits his time between engineering and teaching as he transitions into retirement. He enjoys helping students from algebra to calculus and takes pride in their progress using the Mathnasium Method™.
Steve first fell in love with math through baseball statistics and bowling scores in elementary school. He values Mathnasium’s individualized approach and is dedicated to supporting students’ growth. Outside of work, he enjoys volunteering and spending time with family and friends.
Claire is a rising senior at Chelmsford High School and plans to major in Statistics. Her favorite subjects include statistics, pre-calculus, and physics. Since joining Mathnasium in the spring, she has enjoyed sharing her love of math with students.
Claire is also president of her school’s book club and captain of the math team. In her free time, she enjoys reading with her cats and making learning fun for others.
Ian is a senior at Phillips Academy in Andover. His primary academic interests include mathematics, physics, and history, and he intends to major in mechanical engineering. His extracurricular involvements include track and hockey, and he serves as a volunteer for the Peabody Institute of Archaeology, the Greater Lowell Health Alliance, and the Native Plant Trust.
Austin is a junior at Westford Academy and is a member of the Westford Academy Math Team. He enjoys math, chemistry, and statistics, and is passionate about helping friends and students learn and understand concepts in many subjects. Outside of school, he enjoys playing the piano and the flute, as well as coding.
He has enjoyed working at Mathnasium since the summer and is glad that he has been able to help many students understand the concepts of math better. Austin is dedicated to making math a less stressful and more welcoming subject for all.
John Forino participated in a five-year, dual-degree program in college and received a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts from Fairfield University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Connecticut. He began his college career as a math major but, as he says, "went over to the dark side" and switched to computer science. He spent many years in the computer industry working for companies like Raytheon, Digital Equipment, US Robotics, 3Com, Nextpoint Networks, and NetScout Systems. He worked as a software developer, project leader, and development manager throughout his career concentrating on computer networks and embedded systems. John recently left the computer industry and was excited to get back into the math field. He is looking forward to working with the kids and igniting their fire in math learning.
Maruthi is a senior at Westford Academy with a strong passion for math. Inspired by two influential math teachers, he joined Mathnasium to pay that experience forward. He plans to pursue engineering and aspires to one day launch his own startup.
His favorite subject is math, and outside the center, you’ll find him lifting weights, cooking, or playing basketball. Maruthi is committed to making math engaging and meaningful for the students he works with.
Nahin earned her PhD in Biostatistics from the University of South Carolina and also holds an MS in Statistics. She has taught undergraduate and graduate students and is known for using simple, effective techniques to explain complex concepts. Her passion for math began in childhood and continues to grow through her work with young learners.
She strongly believes that early exposure to math skills helps build a solid academic foundation. Nahin enjoys gardening and traveling in her spare time and loves helping students find joy in mastering math.
