    Yes, Mathnasium of Waterloo offers online tutoring via our virtual classroom, Mathnasium@Home.    

    Students who choose to attend online receive live, face-to-face instruction in a fun and supportive group environment, guided by our same caring tutors in Waterloo whether they attend online or in person.

  • Is there a difference between online and in-person tutoring?

    No, whether attending online or in-centre, all our students receive the same quality of live face-to-face instruction.   

    Online students follow the same personalized learning plans and receive the same caring support from our specially trained tutors as their peers who attend Mathnasium in person.

    No. Membership pricing is the same whether students attend sessions online, in person, or a combination of both.

  • Why do you require an assessment for enrolment?

    Each student begins their Mathnasium journey with a diagnostic assessment. This assessment helps us understand their current skills, identify learning gaps, and determine academic goals, so we can create a personalized learning plan tailored to their needs.

  • How do you teach math? What curriculum do you use?

    At Mathnasium of Waterloo, we do not follow a one-size-fits-all curriculum. Instead, we use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach that combines personalized learning plans with proven instructional techniques to help students truly understand and even enjoy math.  

    Using this approach, our specially trained math tutors meet students where they are in math and introduce new concepts step-by-step, in a logical sequence.   

    As students begin to close their knowledge gaps and strengthen their foundational skills, math begins to click. They learn new tactics and gradually transform how they think and feel about the subject.

    Yes. Mathnasium of Waterloo helps students get ready for standardized tests such as math portions of state and college admissions exams.
