• Do you offer online tutoring?

  Yes. Mathnasium of North Potomac offers both in-center and online tutoring. Whether students attend in person or online, they receive personalized, face-to-face instruction from the same specially trained tutors in a supportive and engaging group environment.

• Is there a difference between online and in-person tutoring?

  No. Students who participate online receive the same high-quality instruction, individualized learning plans, and supportive group environment as those who attend in person.

• How do you teach math? What curriculum do you use?

  At Mathnasium of North Potomac, we don’t use a fixed curriculum. We apply the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach that blends personalized learning plans with proven teaching techniques. 

  Building upon what the student already knows, we add new concepts gradually, breaking them down into manageable steps to help them fill in their knowledge gaps, develop solid foundational skills, and even transform how they think and feel about math.

  Yes. We work with students at all skill levels, whether they are looking to catch up, keep up, or get ahead on their math journey. 

  Students who are struggling with math benefit from step-by-step instruction that builds confidence and competence. Advanced students enjoy enrichment that deepens their understanding and stretches their thinking.

• Do you work with homeschooled students in Gaithersburg?

  Yes. We work with K–12 students from all educational backgrounds, including homeschool, private, and public school students across the North Potomac and Gaithersburg area.

• Do you help students with their math homework?

  Yes. Our tutors set aside time during sessions to help students with their math homework and ensure they understand the material they are covering in school.

• Does Mathnasium assign homework to students?

  No. All learning takes place during sessions with our specially trained tutors. We do not assign homework, so students can stay focused on making progress while they are with us.

• Do you prepare students for standardized tests?

  Yes. We prepare students in Gaithersburg for math portions of standardized exams, including state assessments, ACT®, and SAT®. Our test prep includes personalized instruction, focused practice, and strategies that build both skill and confidence.
