  • Does Mathnasium of Walnut offer online tutoring?

Yes, Mathnasium of Walnut offers both in-center and online tutoring.

Our students receive face-to-face instruction in a supportive small-group environment and work with the same specially trained tutors, whether they attend online or in person.

  • Is there a difference between online and in-person tutoring?

No, students who attend online receive the same personalized learning plans and face-to-face instruction as those who attend in person. The experience, teaching approach, and results are consistent across both formats.

  • What math classes can your Walnut tutors help with?

We can help students learn and master any K–12 math class or topic, from basic arithmetic to advanced subjects such as Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and beyond. We also work with college students on relevant math topics.

Our tutors follow learning plans that are tailored to each student’s specific needs, ensuring they receive exactly the support required to strengthen skills, fill knowledge gaps, and achieve their academic goals.

  • What does mathematics tutoring cost at Mathnasium of Walnut?

Mathnasium of Walnut delivers premium value tutoring through a flat monthly membership with a one-time enrollment fee. Most students attend two to three times per week.

Following a diagnostic assessment, we create a personalized learning plan with a recommended session schedule designed to meet your child’s learning needs and goals. To learn more, contact us at [email protected].

  • Is there a difference between the cost of online and in-center math tutoring?

No. Membership pricing is the same whether students attend online, in person, or through a hybrid format.

  • Why do you require an assessment for enrollment?

Each student begins their Mathnasium enrollment with a diagnostic assessment. This allows us to identify their current math skills, pinpoint learning gaps, and understand their academic objectives so we can design a personalized learning plan that supports their growth.

  • How do you teach math? What curriculum do you use?

Mathnasium of Walnut does not follow a one-size-fits-all curriculum. We use The Mathnasium Method™, a teaching approach that combines personalized, assessment-based learning plans with proven teaching techniques to build solid foundations for math mastery.

Our tutors build on what each student already knows, introduce new concepts in a logical sequence, and guide them toward a deep understanding of math and the confidence to apply it in school and beyond.

  • Do you work with advanced students or students who are struggling with math?

Both! We support students of all skill levels.

Students who are behind in math class receive caring, targeted instruction to rebuild foundational skills and confidence. Advanced learners participate in enrichment programs that challenge their thinking and expand their mathematical abilities.

  • Do you work with homeschooled students in Walnut?

Absolutely! We work with students from homeschool, public, and private school backgrounds throughout Walnut, West Covina, Covina, Pomona, La Puente, Diamond Bar, Chino Hills, and surrounding communities.

  • Do you help students with their homework?

Yes. Our tutors make time during each session to help students with their homework and ensure they understand the concepts they are learning in school.

  • Does Mathnasium assign homework to students?

No. All instruction and practice occur during sessions, whether in-center or online. We do not assign additional homework so students can stay focused and make progress during their time with us.

  • Do you prepare students for standardized tests?

Yes. We prepare students for school-based and standardized math assessments including state tests, ACT®, and SAT®. Our test prep includes personalized learning plans, targeted practice, and strategies to build both math skills and test-taking confidence.
