Mathnasium of Bromsgrove, a dedicated maths learning centre, is opening its doors in late summer 2026 at 67 High St, Bromsgrove B61 8AQ. Whether your child is struggling with core concepts, preparing for their 11+ or GCSEs, or simply ready for more of a challenge, Mathnasium’s personalised approach is designed to help every child build real confidence in maths.

About us

Mathnasium felt like a natural fit for us. Ajay studied maths at university before building a successful career in finance, while Priya has always been driven by a passion for helping children learn, grow, and find their confidence. Having both experienced the grammar school system, we know the difference a strong foundation in maths can make. Bringing those experiences together, opening a Mathnasium centre felt less like a business decision and more like a natural next step. 

What drew us to Mathnasium specifically was the approach. So many tutoring services focus on getting children through tonight's homework or drilling exam technique. Mathnasium is different - it starts by truly understanding where each child is, fills in the gaps properly, and builds real understanding from the ground up. That philosophy resonated with us immediately, because it's not just about better grades. It's about giving children the kind of belief in themselves that stays with them long after the sessions end.

Life outside the centre is busy in the best way. Our son keeps us constantly on our feet, and watching him discover the world with such curiosity and enthusiasm is one of our greatest joys. We love travelling as a family, exploring new cities, tasting new foods, and immersing ourselves in different cultures, and between that and life at home, there's never a dull moment.

Our passion for maths

Priya still remembers the moment clearly. At school, a maths concept just wasn't clicking - no matter how many times it was explained, it simply wasn't making sense. Then one teacher tried a different approach and suddenly everything fell into place. What had felt frustrating and out of reach became something she could actually do, and the confidence that came with that moment stayed with her long after the lesson ended. It's exactly the kind of experience we want every child at Mathnasium to have - that moment when it all clicks and they think, "I can do this."

Maths underpins so much of what children go on to study - whether that's science, economics, or beyond - and when a child begins to feel genuinely confident in it, that belief tends to carry into everything else they do. There's something incredibly rewarding about seeing a child go from uncertainty and frustration to genuinely enjoying the subject, once they have the right support around them. Our aim is simple: that every child who comes through our doors not only improves in maths, but leaves feeling more confident in themselves.

The centre

We're most looking forward to working with children day to day, supporting them as individuals, and helping them build confidence step by step. What makes our approach different is that we know every child learns differently - so rather than expecting children to fit a standard programme, we create bespoke learning plans tailored to each child's individual needs, strengths, and pace. By meeting them where they are and building their understanding from the ground up, we help children develop lasting confidence and a genuine enjoyment of maths. There's nothing more rewarding than hearing a child has enjoyed their session, feels more confident, and is starting to see real progress at school - that sense of growth is exactly why we're doing this.

The local community

We chose Bromsgrove for its strong reputation for education and its close-knit community feel - a place where schools, families, and local life feel genuinely connected. We're looking forward to building strong relationships with local primary and secondary schools and over time we hope to become a trusted part of the community, not just a tutoring centre, but a familiar place families feel they can rely on as their children grow.

Away from the centre, we love everything Bromsgrove and the surrounding area has to offer - the beautiful countryside and parks on the doorstep, the lovely spots to eat and drink, and the kind of high street you actually enjoy walking around. We feel very lucky to have found a place that feels like home, and we're looking forward to becoming a proper part of it.
