Mathnasium began with the realisation that there’s a better way to teach maths

I have recommended many friends to Mathnasium in Barnet. The team are fantastic in keeping me posted about my daughter’s progress and they all are invested in helping her confidence grow. I highly recommend this method of tuition and my daughter loves attending.

As a parent of two very different learners, I can’t recommend Mathnasium Teddington enough. One of my children has always struggled with maths and finds it hard to stay engaged, while the other absolutely loves it and is thriving. What’s been amazing is how the team here has managed to support both of them in such a thoughtful and encouraging way. The staff and management are incredibly kind, patient, and genuinely passionate about what they do.

​Mathnasium Stanmore has been a total game-changer for my daughter. Before joining, she struggled with confidence and found maths frustrating, but they identified the gaps quickly and their customized learning plan helped bridge those gaps quickly. ​The tutors are incredibly patient and know how to explain complex concepts in a way that actually clicks. We’ve already seen a significant improvement in school reports and test scores, but more importantly, my daughter now approaches maths with a positive attitude instead of dread. It’s a supportive and professional environment. Highly recommend!

My child has attended mathnasium for over year and we’re really impressed with how our their confidence has grown. Lessons focus on strong numerical fluency and foundations, which has really helped when starting to approach more stretchy topics. Tutors do a great job of supporting each child and creating a fun and focused learning environment. We also found the star card incentive scheme really helps maintain enthusiasm and frequency of visits.

I researched and the trial sessions at most of the centres in our local area. So that was about five of them. I have to say we chose this centre specifically because of Fiona and Shane and how they were attentive to what we wanted out of the lessons for our son. They have not let us down. My son loves going to his lessons and Shane and Fiona give him the time that he needs which is fantastic. He’s so motivated and proud of his improvements in maths. This centre works because of its People they are absolutely fantastic.

Mathnasium has been a great experience for my daughter. Her confidence in maths has grown significantly since she started attending lessons. She is happy with her results at school too, improving her test scores from 60% to 90% in just four months. The team at Mathnasium is doing an excellent job.

My daughter Avni has been attending maths classes here for the past two years, and I can honestly say it’s made such a huge difference to her learning and confidence. When she first started, she was quite unsure of herself and often doubted her ability in maths, but thanks to the incredible tutors and their supportive approach, she’s come such a long way. Her understanding of maths has improved tremendously, and she now approaches schoolwork with so much more confidence and enthusiasm. It’s been lovely to see her go from feeling nervous about maths to actually enjoying it and performing really well at school. The tutors are absolutely amazing – patient, encouraging, and truly dedicated to helping each child reach their potential. They take the time to explain things clearly and make sure every student feels comfortable asking questions. We are so grateful for the support Tara and her team has given our son with his GCSE maths. Before tutoring, he lacked confidence and often felt overwhelmed, but with Tara's patient and clear teaching style, we’ve seen a huge improvement both in his ability and his confidence. Tara explains concepts in a way that really makes sense and ensures every session is tailored to what our son needs. He now approaches maths with a positive attitude and is much more prepared for his exams. We can’t recommend Tara at Mathnasium highly enough!"

Second time with Mathnasium. This time, both kids are going. Both struggle with maths but are becoming more confident. Youngest is loving it and is proud he is going to go on the board today for his efforts (number of pages completed in a session). They recently attended the AI pilot and loved that, too. All the staff are wonderful and encourage the kids in a really lovely way. The manager has such a great way about him, as does the assistant manager who ran the AI pilot.

The centre go the extra mile to give my daughter a personal experience and cater for her individual needs. Very friendly and relaxed and my daughter is showing progress.

the biggest change I can see is that my daughter no longer scared of maths, she’s definitely more relaxed and confident. What I really appreciate is that Mathnasium has helped her see maths as something that doesn’t have to be scary, “heavy”/ hard or constantly disappointing, and that shift in mindset has made a real difference. For that alone, I truly feel bringing her to Mathnasium was the right decision. Thank you very much to you and the team for your support and input so far — it’s genuinely appreciated. ALSO, they don’t send her home with loads of homework, which I simply can’t cope with anymore. That was the whole reason I needed support in the first place . I honestly don’t understand how some places send children home with even more work. Don’t get me wrong, we do practise here and there, but there isn’t that constant DAILY MATH homework. I can’t imagine how parents who already struggle to explain maths to their child are supposed to manage even more of it. What I really appreciate is the very positive psychological environment. It’s like a gym/ training centre for maths — the children are guided all the time (it’s not tutoring one -to -one). The atmosphere is focused on learning, but they genuinely enjoy being there. All the children are trying hard to improve every day, and I absolutely love that.

Mathnasium is a great place to improve your maths skills. The tutors explain things really clearly and are always friendly and helpful if you get stuck. My favourite instructors are Haidar. The work is personalised so it helps you focus on the areas you need to improve. Since going there, I feel much more confident in maths. I would definitely recommend it.

My child (year 11) has been studying at Mathsnasium North Oxford for about five months and has come on leaps and bounds. The structure is excellent and the instant marking has meant they can see straight away where the problems are and correct them. The environment is ideal and they really enjoy coming to lessons. Mathnasium is fantastic. It really helped my child prepare for the 11+. Her progress was impressive, but equally impressive was how enjoyable it must be because she kept going back! My only minor complaint is the cost - it would be helpful to have a more a la carte model for added flexibility - particularly for when students are not in an exam window.

Fantastic. My child had gaps in their maths education from the local prep school. Thanks to Mathnasium, they were data driven in their approach by giving her an initial assessment that identified the areas for improvement, and then systematically worked her though those areas to practice, find the challenges, teach the techniques to overcome them and progress the practice levels. I also love the regular assessments which gives me analytics showing the areas of improvements and progress made. Having blown a small fortune on private maths tutors (including a Head of Maths at a boarding school!), this is much better as it's more structured and systemized. Maths has become fun and easy again! My child has also been promoted to the top set within 6 months and is now eligible for further maths at GCSE. I can't recommend the Mathnasium team, their leaders Fiona and Shane highly enough!!

We have been really pleased with our first few months at Mathnasium. The immediate impact it has had on our daughter’s maths has been fantastic to see. When I first heard about Mathnasium, I was very hesitant to enroll my kids. I wasn’t sure if an after-school math club would really make a difference—but after three months, I can confidently say it’s been one of the best decisions we’ve made. Not only have both my kids learned a tremendous amount, but what truly surprised me is how much they love going. They look forward to their sessions so much! While Mathnasium’s teaching method is clearly effective, I believe the real magic lies in the environment. The atmosphere is warm, positive, and supportive. Nick, who leads the center, pours so much care and heart into everything, and it shows. The tutors are always welcoming, smiling, and genuinely eager to help. Another thing I appreciate is the regular assessments, either weekly or biweekly—which help track my kids’ progress. It gives me peace of mind to know they’re not just enjoying themselves but also improving and growing academically. If you’re on the fence like I was, (for almost 1 year) I highly recommend giving Mathnasium a try. It’s been a great!!
