At Mathnasium of Ealing, our specially trained instructors use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach designed to help children build a lasting mastery of maths. Our teaching approach combines personalised learning plans with a variety of mental, verbal, visual, tactile and written techniques, keeping children engaged while they work through new ideas.
Children move through our teaching approach at their own pace, building the kind of maths mastery that holds up under exam pressure and in the classroom.
Every instructor at Mathnasium of Ealing completes Mathnasium's own training programme before leading a session. Face-to-face instruction takes place in a caring and fun group environment, in-centre on Bond Street or online through Mathnasium@home.
Students work with us from Reception through to GCSE and every session follows their personalised learning plan, so each child gets exactly the instruction they need.
Enrolment begins with a diagnostic assessment that tells us what the student already knows well and where the knowledge gaps sit. From there, we build a personalised learning plan that sequences topics in the right order for that child, rather than working straight through a one-size-fits-all syllabus.
We review progress regularly, so the plan keeps pace with what each child needs as they work towards maths mastery.

Rab Selvaratnam
Owner
Carrie-Lea
Centre Director
Carrie is a Mathematics graduate from Durham University with a long-standing passion for education. She began tutoring maths at the age of 12 and has been dedicated to supporting learners ever since. Her commitment to helping others started early, when she launched an after-school homework club for fellow students who were struggling with maths. After missing the rewarding experience of working with children during her university years, Carrie knew she wanted to pursue a career in education upon graduating. Her role at Mathnasium of Ealing has allowed her to combine her strengths as a skilled mathematician with her natural ability to connect with students from a wide range of ages and backgrounds. She has full confidence in the Mathnasium model and values its structured yet flexible approach to teaching.Outside of work, Carrie enjoys crocheting and plays netball with great enthusiasm (even if not always with great success).

Sunaina

Sunny enjoyed her time studying statistics at University but her favourite part of Maths is problem-solving. Additionally, having found a passion for her modules on child development and organisational change, she chose to pursue a career in the private education sector. Her interest in the education sector grew during her experience working in schools, in which she was able to teach different year groups a range of different subjects. Alongside this, she has had a number of customer service roles which gave her the opportunity to interact with families and make a child's day better through fun and passion. Sunny aims to continue to spread this joy across multiple Mathnasiums. She believes it is a great place to help build a child's confidence due to its positive learning atmosphere! When she is not working, you can catch Sunny spending time with her friends and family, watching movies or reading a good book.

We work with students from Reception through to GCSE, ages 4 to 16, covering every Key Stage from the Early Years Foundation Stage through to KS4.
Ealing families come to us for a wide range of reasons, from building solid number sense in the early primary years to preparing for competitive school entry and pushing through GCSE maths with confidence. Whatever the stage, there is a programme to fit.
Our instructors cover the full primary and secondary maths curriculum, including number and arithmetic, fractions, decimals and percentages, algebra, ratio and proportion, geometry, statistics and trigonometry, across every Key Stage from KS1 through to KS4.
Rather than teaching to a fixed syllabus, sessions follow each child's personalised learning plan, so a Year 2 child working on number bonds and a Year 11 child revising for GCSE Higher tier will each spend their time on exactly what they need.
A private tutor's session usually takes shape from whatever the child brings that day. Mathnasium of Ealing starts from a different point entirely.
Every child completes a diagnostic assessment before sessions begin and their instruction follows a personalised learning plan built around their specific knowledge gaps and goals.
Our instructors work with students face-to-face, following the Mathnasium Method™, a teaching approach used across 1,200+ Mathnasium centres worldwide, so progress is planned rather than improvised.
Sessions happen in a caring and fun group environment, where children get personalised, assessment-based instruction while working alongside peers, which keeps them engaged and motivated.
We don't follow a one-size-fits-all curriculum. Instead, our instructors use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach that combines personalised learning plans with proven teaching techniques to help students develop a deep understanding of maths.
Sessions combine mental, verbal, visual, tactile and written techniques, all guided by each child's personalised learning plan. We can align sessions with what students are covering under the National Curriculum at school, so their time with us complements classroom learning while closing any gaps that have built up along the way.
Mathnasium of Ealing works with students of all skill levels, whether the goal is catching up, keeping up or getting ahead.
For high-achieving students, that means enrichment beyond the school curriculum, including competition-level problem solving and focused preparation for entrance exams, UKMT challenges and the Maths Olympiad.
For students who are behind or struggling, we build a personalised learning plan around their specific knowledge gaps and teach it with patience in a relaxed, supportive setting where confidence can grow at their own pace.
Yes, Mathnasium of Ealing supports students preparing for the 11+ and the wider range of entrance exams used by local independent and grammar schools, including 7+, 8+, 9+, 10+ and 13+.
Many of the families we work with are navigating entry to schools such as St Paul's School, Latymer School, Durston House, St Benedict's School and Notting Hill & Ealing High School. We recommend starting preparation at least a year ahead of the relevant exam, to leave time to build numerical reasoning skills and work through the full range of question types.
Certainly! Our instructors support Year 10 and Year 11 students through GCSE maths, with sessions built around their target grade, current performance and the topics they most need to improve. We cover the full GCSE maths curriculum, from number and algebra to geometry, ratio, probability and statistics, across both Foundation and Higher tiers.
Of course! We help Year 6 students prepare for their KS2 SATs papers, working through both the Arithmetic and Reasoning elements with a personalised learning plan focused on each child's specific gaps.
We also support Year 4 students ahead of the Multiplication Tables Check and Year 2 students working towards their KS1 assessments.
Mathnasium of Ealing supports students taking part in UKMT challenges, including the Junior Mathematical Challenge, as well as Maths Olympiad competitions.
These competitions call for a different kind of thinking to school maths and our instructors build the problem-solving stamina and confidence students need to tackle unfamiliar questions under time pressure.
Mathnasium of Ealing operates on a flat monthly membership fee. The number of sessions we recommend each week depends on your child's personalised learning plan and goals, though most students attend two to three sessions a week.
The exact pricing will be determined after the assessment based on the agreed session frequency and learning goals.
Start by getting in touch through the Contact Us button on this page or by emailing [email protected]. We will arrange a diagnostic assessment to build a clear picture of where your child is in their maths and what support would help most.
After the assessment, we will talk you through the results and the personalised learning plan we have put together and answer any questions before sessions begin.
