Another word for the process of multiplication.
In math, the word “times” is used to talk about multiplication. When we say “3 times 4,” we mean 3 multiplied by 4, or 3 groups of 4, which equals 12.
For example:
- 2 × 5 means “2 times 5,” or 2 groups of 5, which equals 10.
- 4 × 6 means “4 times 6,” or 4 groups of 6, which equals 24.
We use the word “times” all the time when we talk about equal groups, repeated addition, and solving real-world problems like figuring out total cost or total distance.
